"I have been struggling to make artwork that I actually like. They say artists can be their biggest critics. This is certainly true for myself. However I have felt quite uninspired and unmotivated recently. Still I am trying to stay creative for my mental healths sake. Creativity really helps to keep me going. I am still producing artwork even if it is a mental battle to do so, because I know I need to keep at it, as it is my passion. I think the majority of people are struggling to stay motivated at the moment with the pandemic and our normal routines out the window. For me at least, I need structure to my days to help my mental state. It’s a tough time. It’s important to keep doing what you love, somehow. I’m expressing my ‘creative block’ by being creative in this semaphore flag project. That to me is something impactful and empowering."
